Getting
Started: The 4 Eyes All the words here are my own so
please email me first if you wish to reproduce any of the sections below – I would
like to know where they will be reproduced.
The 4 Eyes Ok, not that sort of eye! I’m talking about:
Get these 3 working and you
will see vast improvements in any of your psychic and healing
activities. More of the 4th later… Imagination A lot of psychics or light-workers
as children are blessed with so-called over-active imaginations. This is no coincidence. Your imagination can take you places you
could never dream of going in your physical form; let you talk to people who
you could never hope to meet; and allow you to explore new ideas without risk
of contradiction or ridicule. Or it can simply take you to a fantasy
land. Could there be no better
tool then to awaken other senses in you also?
When beginning to develop psychically, a lot of people negatively disregard
their imagination - even belittling their experiences by blaming it. However, think of your imagination as a way
to tune your other abilities. It may just be the catalyst you need. Spirit
and your Higher Self will use your imagination to present scenarios and
information to you. Gradually you will start to recognise this communication
as having a separate feel or vibration from your usual daydream state. I agree that it is important to be able to
distinguish between your imagination and messages from Spirit – and at first
that can be very tricky - but with experience and with the development of
other sensory abilities - you will start to tell the difference. Try this.
Take a Tarot or Oracle card – any card will do as long as there is a person
or animal somewhere in the picture and lots of other details around them. If
you haven’t got any cards, use a picture in a book or magazine or a painting
on the wall. Now, imagine that you are
that person or animal. Think about
what your name is, what you had for dinner, what you are doing tonight, who
are your friends, where do you live etc etc. This bit is fantasy –
nothing magical or out of this world – just pure pleasure – enjoy
yourself. With practice you will find
that as you relax into this task your physical self starts to recede and the
focus starts to move within. You forget you are a person staring at a
picture, and start to feel that you ARE the picture. This is just the same
feeling as the first stage of a meditation. Soon little pieces of information
will start to occur to you – unexpected pieces of information that will make
you wonder, “Where did that come from?”
Depending on what you are looking it – this information may relate to
the picture – or else be completed unrelated. A name may pop into your head,
a brief glimpse of a figure perhaps or a place. These little pieces of
information are your first messages from your Higher Self, Guide or Spirit –
initially you won’t be sure which is which – but that’s when with practice
you will be able to start to determine the energies of these other voices. It is your imagination that
has taken you there – it has allowed you to get into the correct state to be
receptive and has in turn allowed your helpers to cut through the daily
chatter in your brain and start to communicate their thoughts to you. So next time you dismiss something as just
your imagination – stop and congratulate yourself – it means you’re starting
to get there. Intuition First of all let’s clear up
the difference between Instinct and Intuition – because these are not the
same things. It is instinct that
drives wild animals to mate at certain times of the year or to take cover
when a storm is coming. It is a
combination of biological drive and brain function – like a code they follow
without question when the physical signs are right ie
weather patterns, particular smells or sounds. However, Intuition is like a
flash of inspiration or knowledge eg your dog
knowing that you are coming home even at a strange time of day, or the moment
you look at the phone just before it rings, or when you just know your child
has had an accident at school and you already have your coat on when they
ring to tell you. Instinct is to do with
survival – Intuition is to do with trusting the flash – acting in the
Now. Instinct seems to be passed down,
coded in past experience, from generation to generation. Intuition is unique to that person, at that
particular time, and seems to be communicated from some “other” source either
within or outside ourselves. Intuition is not even a
voice – it is a sudden, and distinct knowing. It tells us precisely what a detail on a
tarot card means to a particular queriant today; it
tells a Reiki practitioner that a client’s right knee has a past injury
before you even lay hands on it; and it tells us that we need to use a rose
quartz crystal with this particular client just by a quick glance in their
eyes. It is usually the first thought
– and as such, the one you are likely to initially try to suppress by using
logic but it is the one crucially that you need to listen to. Trusting your intuition is
the well-spring from which all the psychic disciplines flow. Try working with your
Intuition for 1 week. As you go about your
day-to-day activities – listen for the flash – and follow the advice whenever
practical. Maybe your intuition will
tell you not to take a particular street and so avoid a traffic jam, or may
tell you to eat in a strange restaurant and have the best meal of your life,
or send you into a shop you don’t think you need to go to and you end up
meeting an old friend. See how you
feel after the week – I bet you’ve been to new places and discovered new
things! Intention You will hear light-workers
say they work with “positive intention” or they say they work “in the
Light”. Let’s examine exactly what
this means. It has been discussed and
proven over and over that positive thought is a powerful tool to change your
situation. People have thought their
way out of illness or circumstances they would rather not be in. It is believed that this is so because a
thought itself has its own energy. As
this thought is created and thrown out into the world, its energy expands and
becomes more powerful to the extent that it can actually materialise. Whether this is a spontaneous creation
purely created by the energy itself or else the vibration of the energy is
light enough for a spirit entity or Universal energy to latch on to it and
help make it reality, is beyond me.
I’m not privy to how the process works. All I know is that it works! So thinking creates energy, and the type of
energy you create with that thought is determined by your intention. Therefore working in the
Light or with Positive Intention – simply means focussing your thoughts in a
positive manner for the best good of the recipient ie
the person to whom you are sending the thought. This is exactly how distance healing and
prayer works also. To develop psychically it
is crucial to be as positive as possible.
Use your Intention to power your development – keep it focussed on
what you want to achieve whether that be a new skill or linking in with
spirit or providing an uplifting card reading for a friend. Here are some tips to help
with giving your Intention real muscle! If you think of your
Intention as a muscle to be tuned then it makes sense that short repetitions
are the key. So why not create a
ritual for yourself to use before and after doing your psychic work? A ritual does not have to be long and
complicated – lighting a candle and repeating out loud words such as “I am
carrying out this reading/treatment [or whatever] for the highest good of
[name of recipient]”. See the candle as a physical reminder of your purpose
and look to it if at any time you feel unfocussed. At the end of the exercise – give thanks
for the positive energy you created and blow out the candle to signal the end
of the exercise. This can be adapted for any psychic exercise you are
undertaking. Another option is to
visualise the intention in your imagination. Think of an image which
encompasses a clear, focussed light – maybe a candle, a lighthouse shining at
night, a bonfire beacon on a hillside, even a powerful torch shining out into
the distance. The image represents the
light and clear focus of your intention.
Now see the light created from that source shining onto the subject of
the exercise – either yourself, your friend or
client. Close your eyes and see your
subject smiling widely within the light – they are safe and happy within your
intention. Set this scene, open your
eyes and commence the reading. If your
intention wanders, concentrate once again on this picture until it is very
clear again. At the end of the
exercise see the light from the source gradually fade, still falling on the
client. See the light gradually fade
until the client is no longer visible.
Give thanks and finish just knowing your reading will be received
positively. If you work with your
Guides, Angels, animals etc ask them to help you with keeping your intention
pure and strong. A simple request at
the beginning of the work and thanks at the end will do the trick. But make it as real as you can by
visualising your helpers or invoking them verbally. Don’t just pay lip service – remember, they are making time especially to help you! So that’s the 3 Is. Use your Imagination to help you to connect
to the other worlds; use your Intuition to help you recognise what messages
are true and to help you live in the Now; use your Intention to keep your focus
strong and to create positive outcomes to all your spiritual endeavours. Good luck! Oh, the 4th I? Well that’s the best one - our brow chakra or third eye – get the first 3 working and this
one will really start kicking in! |
