How to Formulate Questions for a Tarot
Reading
To get the most from any Tarot Reading – whether you
are doing it for yourself or paying for a professional Reading – it is important for you to have a
good think beforehand regarding what questions you would like to ask. It’s crucial to phrase these questions in
the most appropriate manner in order to receive clear and precise
answers.
Here are my tips:
Try to clear your mind before
formulating the question. If you feel
at all anxious or under pressure, stop and try again later, otherwise you may
transmit these feelings to the Cards and the response you receive could lack
clarity.
Try to be unbiased in your
questioning. Quite often we know what
we want to hear and so try to word the question with the expectation of a
specific response, or worse still wish for a certain response so badly that we
may influence the Cards.
Make sure the questions are about
you. If you have concerns about
another person, and they are open to the process, why not encourage them to
receive a Reading themselves? Don’t ask questions about
other people. Not only is it unethical
for the Reader to conduct a Reading on this basis but it is also
impractical. It is your energy that is
being worked with, not the other person, so although some information may be
passed clairvoyantly, it is likely that the Cards will pick up on your view of the situation – not
necessarily theirs. If you are
concerned about a situation a loved one finds themselves in and would like to
obtain some guidance, try and phrase your question around what you can do to
support them. For example “My husband
is very unhappy at the moment, what can I do to improve things for him?”
Make sure the questions are specific
if you wish for a specific answer, for example “Will the promotion I’ve been
offered bring me more job satisfaction than my current position?” or “I currently
feel lost in my relationship, will it make me happier if I finish it and
start afresh?”.
Sometimes general questions are useful
if you just want to explore an issue a little bit. If this is what you need, first consider
selecting an overview reading from your Reader explaining you just want to
explore a particular area of your life a bit ie
career or relationships. Alternatively
ask a more general question “What direction is my career headed in?” but if
you do this, expect a more general response.
You can always follow this up with more direct questions afterwards to
get to the nitty-gritty.
Lastly, don’t be afraid to break a
question down into its parts in order to get a better response. For example if you are caught between 2
options – perhaps you can’t decide which of 2 houses to rent – you can ask
the cards the same question ie “Will I be happy in
this house?” thinking about the first house clearly in your mind, then repeat
the question with the 2nd house.
Or else allocate each house a number ie “Will
I be happy in house number 1” etc. If
the cards offer fairly equal responses, think a bit more clearly about what makes
you happy and try and define further questions around this point ie if being happy in a home means you feeling secure and comfortable,
or the house being cheap to run etc etc – formulate
questions around each of these points for each of the houses. Eventually a winner will make itself known.
If it doesn’t ask the Cards whether
there is another option that is not yet know to you. This could be the clincher!
I hope these tips help – I can’t
guarantee that the answer the Cards give is the one you want to hear, but at
least if the original questions are true and clear the response should be
too!
